2018 Tennessee football recruiting targets at quarterback

1. Brevin White; 6’2″ 182 pounds; Paraclete High School; Lancaster, Calif.

Another pro-style quarterback, Brevin White fits the mold of California quarterbacks that Tennessee football has had in the past like Tyler Bray and Casey Clausen. He is a pure drop-back passer with solid size and has a ton of potential.

A four-star on Rivals, White is the No. 11 ranked player at his position and No. 33 ranked player in the state of California. Of course, that means the Vols have a player very close to him already at that position, a pro-style quarterback, and their other guy is a higher-ranked player in the state of California.

So it’d be hard to see him committing to Tennessee football. But right now, his recruitment is wide open, as no school has pulled out ahead. So anything could happen.

2. Gerry Bohanon; 6’3″ 212 pounds; Earle High School; Earle, Ark.

Gerry Bohanon is a dual-threat quarterback like Adrian Martinez. A three-star on Rivals, Bohanon may not have the same ranking as Martinez does. But he’s still No. 15 at his position and the second-best player in the state of Arkansas. And speaking of Arkansas, coming from the South could give Bohanon a unique appreciation for playing in the SEC.

But with a clear top four and the Baylor Bears clearly overall in the lead, Tennessee football has major hurdles to get Bohanon. So he’s a long-shot commitment. But that doesn’t mean that he wouldn’t be a valuable pick-up.
