Other potential 2018 Tennessee football quarterback prospects

1. Justin Fields; 6’3″ 220 pounds; Harrison High School; Kennesaw, Ga.

Tennessee football has had recent success with Georgia quarterbacks in Joshua Dobbs. Justin Fields would be Butch Jones’s biggest get yet at the position if he could get a steal. A five-star on Rivals, Fields is the top ranked dual-threat quarterback in the country, the No. 8 ranked player overall, and the No. 2 ranked player at his position.

Simply put, he’d be a huge steal for anybody. However, it’s unlikely for the Vols. They have to compete with the Georgia Bulldogs, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, and Penn State Nittany Lions to get him. And honestly, those schools have more to offer him right now based on their rosters. So this is why he’s only a potential target.

2. Jordan Loving; 6’3″ 210 pounds; Riverside Academy; Reserve, La.

An unrated pro-style quarterback on Rivals, Jordan Loving hasn’t received any offers from the leading candidates for his services yet, but he’s drawing plenty of interest. And that interest is coming from schools like the LSU Tigers, Missouri Tigers, and Texas A&M Aggies.

Loving’s commitment is a total wildcard, and we’d have to wait and see how hard the Vols pursue him. But it wouldn’t hurt for another quarterback to be on the Tennessee football roster as they prepare for the future. However, with no offer or rating, this is another long-shot, and Loving is a guy the Vols probably shouldn’t spend too much time on.
