Tennessee Vols announce fall camp dates – Luke Slabaugh, WBIR
Nothing spells preseason like fall practice. And with Tennessee football needing to replace some key players, it’s better to have it sooner rather than later. That’s exactly what Butch Jones and the Vols are doing this year.
"Players will report for fall camp on Friday, July 28. Practice begins the following day.UT Football also announced in a news release that the team’s media day will take place Sunday, August 13."
Jashon Robertson on 2017 Outland Trophy Preseason Watch List – FWAA press release
The Football Writers Association of America named Jashon Robertson among 81 interior linemen on the watch list for the 2017 Outland Trophy award. Given to the best interior lineman annually, the award has gone to two Tennessee Vols in the past: John Henderson in 2001 and Steve DeLong in 1964.
"The Outland Trophy winner is chosen from three finalists who are a part of the annual FWAA All-America Team. The FWAA All-America Committee, after voting input from the entire membership, selects a 26-man first team and eventually the three Outland finalists. Committee members, then by individual ballot, select the winner. Only interior linemen on offense or defense are eligible for the award; ends are not eligible."
