Tennessee football recruiting: Vols in top 9 for 4-star 2018 Georgia athlete
Tennessee football recruiting is now in the running for another elite player. Four-star Georgia ATH Richard Jibunor named the Volunteers in his top nine.
They have a major uphill battle to get him as a commitment, but Tennessee football still got a victory by making the cut for one elite Georgia player.
Richard Jibunor, an athlete out of Athens Christian School in Athens, Ga. named the Vols in his top nine on Wednesday.
Tennessee was in there with the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Florida Gators, the Auburn Tigers, the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Louisville Cardinals and the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Jibunor made his announcement on Twitter.
A four-star on Rivals, Jibunor is listed as an athlete who will likely play on the defensive front seven for a team. The 6’4″ 210-pound prospect is the No. 24 ranked athlete overall for 2018 and the No. 36 ranked player in the state of Georgia.
According to the 247Sports Crystal Ball, Auburn is an overwhelming favorite to land Jibunor. However, that doesn’t mean the Vols should stop trying for him.
Jibunor does have a ton of talent and could be a stud at the next level. As a result, making this cut is a reason for Tennessee football to continue to go after him.
Outside of his talent, keeping the pipeline in Georgia counts for something. So the Vols should work whatever they can to try to sway him.
