Tennessee football recruiting for 2018 is still a hot topic, and four-star defensive end Kayode Oladele put the Volunteers in his top five Tuesday.

Butch Jones has already done a pretty good job stacking up the Tennessee football defensive line for 2018. But he’s still working at it.

And on Tuesday, he got more good news on that front.

Kayode Oladele announced his top five that morning and named the Vols in his top five. A four-star defensive end on Rivals, Oladele was once a Florida State Seminoles commitment. However, he reopened his recruitment in May and named his top five Tuesday on Twitter, with FSU still on there along with the Auburn Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels and Georgia Bulldogs.

At 6’5″ 236 pounds, Rivals listed Oladele as a strongside defensive end. He’s lined up in the middle a lot more in high school than he will at the next level should he stay at that position.

Here is a look at his highlight reel.

As you can see, Oladele shows a unique skill at forcing plays to go a certain way. But if he’s going to stay an end in college, he needs to be more of an individual playmaker.

Right now, he comes a cross as a bit of a ‘tweener athlete, a guy who has defensive tackle skills but defensive end size. He does have some speed, though.

Oladele is a Champagnat Catholic prospect out of Hialeah, Fla., which is in Miami-Dade County. Larry Scott’s and Kevin Beard‘s connections to that area specifically could really work in Tennessee’s favor here.

Ironically, the local major school, the Miami Hurricanes, weren’t in his top five. And that’s despite the fact that seven in 10 predictions on the 247Sports Crystal Ball had him going there.
