It’s a big news day overall. Let’s begin, as always, with football.

Butch Jones’s future more complicated than wins – Joe Rexrode, The Tennessean

Ever since the end to last year, there’s been talk of Tennessee Vols head coach Butch Jones being on the hot seat. As he gets set to begin his fifth season in Knoxville, the question remains. However, the state of the program and quotes from new athletic director John Currie show that measuring what Jones has done in Knoxville is very complicated.

"The portion of the UT fan base that believes Jones has taken this thing as far as he can does not want to hear about the injuries. But they were extreme and played a major role in an SEC East favorite losing the division at South Carolina and the Sugar Bowl at Vanderbilt. The portion of the UT fan base that believes Jones is the answer does not want to hear that he and his staff failed to adjust well enough to those injuries and still have much to prove."
