Albert Haynesworth comments on Tennessee Vols – The Midday 180
Former superstar defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth provided his own insight into the Tennessee Vols in a radio interview Thursday. He addressed the way the Vols’ defensive line has been lining up and the state of the program under Butch Jones.
"“For the coaches, for Butch to be recruiting some of the top athletes in the country and having top-10, top-15 recruiting classes, that hasn’t showed on the field yet. So, yeah, it’s definitely our time. This is what we’ve been waiting for as fans, especially me being a VFL, to give blood, sweat and tears to the university that I love, I’m ready for us to get back on top. Less than a year in, John Currie has already undone one major chance that Dave Hart made when he was Tennessee Vols athletic director. Currie helped to return the Lady Vols logo, which has been a very controversial topic in Knoxville for a while.
"John Currie heard the “Lady Vols” chants that rang out across Lee Stadium during Tennessee softball games.Beverly Davenport read through the boxes and packets of petitions sent to her office, urging her to restore the Lady Vols nickname and logo for all women’s sports at the university.Currie, UT’s first-year athletic director, and Davenport, in her first year as university chancellor, were together Thursday at the Ray and Lucy Hand Digital Studio, announcing the return of the Lady Vols nickname and logo for all women’s sports. Currie expressed hope that the announcement will restore an overall sense of unity."
Tennessee Vols announce depth chart for Florida – Grant Ramey, GoVols247
The Tennessee football depth chart was announced against the Gators for Saturday. Quinten Dormady was officially named the clear starter on Saturday as opposed to the co-starter, which is one of a few updates in the roster.
"Freshman Ty Chandler remains at No. 2 at running back. Dillon Bates has moved from the backup at middle linebacker to the backup at the SAM linebacker. Marquill Osborne is the No. 2 in the nickel and Micah Abernathy continues to be listed as the starter at safety over Todd Kelly Jr."
