After losing to the Florida Gators due to some of the worst coaching in history, Butch Jones managed to somehow make himself look worse this past Saturday against the UMass Minutemen.

And now, it’s bad enough that the Tennessee Vols are near the bottom of our SEC Power Rankings. In fact, South Carolina would have a case to be ahead of them. And they would be if we weren’t factoring in Deebo Samuel’s injury.

But Tennessee, despite still having a ton of talent, just can’t get fans excited this year. They had to hold on to win 17-13 against UMass, who by the way, is 0-5 now.

Yes, you read that right. They’re 0-5.

By the way, their loss to Florida the week before was embarrassing on its own considering all the suspensions the Gators had.

Now it’s fair to say that they were not up for this game. And when it comes to talent alone, you still have to acknowledge this team has some of it.

But Jones has completely mismanaged everything about this squad, and most notable last Saturday was when he inexplicably decided to put Jarrett Guarantano in at quarterback after Quinten Dormady had been playing well.

And that actually cost them. Now, the Vols are 3-1 and looking hideous with the brutal part of their schedule coming. They have to face the Georgia Bulldogs and South Carolina Gamecocks at home before facing the Alabama Crimson Tide and Kentucky Wildcats on the road.

This is a dangerous setup for them, and if they don’t win three of these four games, beating either Alabama or Georgia, Jones may be done.
