Tennessee football: 5 most important Vols vs. Georgia Bulldogs

We haven’t named Quinten Dormady a lot this year as a crucial player in a game despite our defense of him, noting that he should be Tennessee football’s starting quarterback. And in this game, it wouldn’t make sense to name him either since Kirby Smart has put together such an elite Georgia Bulldogs secondary.

However, as we noted in the previous post, the Dawgs outmatch the Vols in the talent field in many ways. So one advantage could be at the quarterback position.

Whether or not Jacob Eason or Jake Fromm is the guy, Dormady has shown enough to prove he can be a great playmaker for the Vols.

The junior is clutch, deadly accurate, and a great leader. One thing he needs to do, though, is get into a rhythm earlier.

And this makes it more crucial for him to get in a rhythm early. Dormady is going to have to play great for Tennessee to win this game.

Whenever the Vols beat the Dawgs, it’s due to great quarterback play. Just ask Jonathan Crompton in 2009 and Joshua Dobbs in 2015 and 2016.

Tee Martin‘s emergence in 1998 was the Georgia game. So it’s always the one where the quarterbacks come alive when Tennessee football wins.

Dormady needs to be that guy. This needs to be his breakout game to show he is the starter for the Vols.

And that makes him one of the most crucial players on the team. Finally, we’ve named a quarterback in that list.
