Tennessee football: 5 most important Vols vs. Georgia Bulldogs
Quinten Dormady is the crucial player on the team due to the fact that he is the quarterback. But John Kelly is the biggest offensive weapon on the team. Once again last week, he carried Tennessee football to a victory that never should have been that close.

And if the Vols had used him properly the week before, they would have beaten the Florida Gators. So of course, in a big game like one against the Georgia Bulldogs, the star of the offense needs to make plays.
That’s why John Kelly is on this list.
There are no match-up reasons to put Kelly. But his talent alone requires that he be on here. The Vols need him to be a huge factor if they’re going to win.
And to be fair, there’s some history here as well.
While the quarterbacks have emerged for Tennessee football against the Georgia Bulldogs, don’t forget the amazing game the backs had when they beat the Dawgs in 2007. It was a by-committee victory among Montario Hardesty, Arian Foster and LaMarcus Coker.
Kelly has also defied odds and match-ups already this year. In their season-opener against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, his amazing running carried the team to victory. And that was against an extremely elite front seven.
So Kelly needs to emerge as the star again for the Vols in this game. He can do that as an amazing pass-catcher and an amazing runner. But he’ll need some defensive help, which we go to next.
