Tennessee football: 5 most important Vols vs. Georgia Bulldogs
Colton Jumper has been an incessant target of unfair criticism among Tennessee football fans consistently because the Vols coaches keep putting him in bad situations. He’s brilliant and staying in position and making the right plays.

However, he’s not meant to play against triple-option offenses. Nor is he meant to go against elite offensive lines.
This is a different game, though. Georgia’s offensive line is solid, but it’s not great. And it’s a basic pro-style offense.
As a result, Jumper should have no trouble making a huge impact on this game. He was a huge reason for their win last year against the Dawgs, leading the team with 11 tackles, assisting in a tackle for a loss, and forcing a fumble.
At the same time, he was a bright spot for the team last week against the UMass Minutemen.
Remember, every time people bet against him, Jumper manages to defy the odds. Perhaps that’s why Butch Jones and Bob Shoop continue to have faith in him.
Jumper is going to be facing an inconsistent Georgia offense that is more known for its elite defense. So if he can make a few plays, that’ll be great for Tennessee football.
On top of that, the Vols are facing a coach in Kirby Smart who, despite his greatness so far this year, isn’t exactly the best when it comes to offensive coaching.
Add in the issues the Dawgs have at quarterback, and Jumper with his intelligence is the guy the Vols need to make huge plays on Saturday.
