Tennessee football’s game against South Carolina featured fans of both teams in the stands trolling Butch Jones. Volunteers fans wanted him gone.

In 2013, Tennessee football upset the South Carolina Gamecocks, ruining their SEC and national title chances and giving Butch Jones his first signature victory. Four years later, Jones was the joke of both fan bases.

With his seat warmer than ever, Vols and Gamecocks fans separately wore shirts that made Jones look bad. And they said different things.

Here’s a look at what a Tennessee fan wore in the stadium.

And if that weren’t bad enough, a group of South Carolina fans wore this.

All of this is a bad look for Jones. His seat got hotter than ever after Tennessee football’s 41-0 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs at Neyland Stadium two weeks before. Since then, he’s come across as a dead man walking.

The loss moved his team to 3-2 on the year and 0-2 in the SEC, and the way he lost to the Florida Gators was bad enough to immediately put him on the hot seat.

SEC fans are not kind enough to let a coach forget if he’s a lame duck coach. Of course, the ironic part is Jones entered the game 3-1 against the Gamecocks with two wins he never should have had.

But South Carolina fans clearly probably feel like they are in bigger trouble if the Vols hire somebody else. So the trolling of Jones is worse than ever. Remember, this was the game last year when the rumblings against Jones began.
