Tennessee vs Alabama is one of the most historic rivalries in college football. And once again, the Vols and Tide set the field to renew that rivalry in Tuscaloosa, today.

However, expectations behind the rivalry are lower than ever. After all, Tennessee is 3-3 and 0-3 in the SEC while one step away from firing Butch Jones.

Meanwhile, Alabama is undefeated and No. 1 in the country. They have only been threatened once, and right now they look like Nick Saban’s best team ever in Tuscaloosa.

This is the 100th meeting between the two schools. Alabama leads the all-time series 54-38-7 and is on a 10-game winning streak against Tennessee. They won last year in a blowout 49-10. However, the 2015 Tennessee vs Alabama game was the last one in Tuscaloosa, and the Vols played that one close until the end.

Alabama has a chance to tie the longest win streak in the rivalry for either team by winning today. Here is all the information you need for the game.

Tennessee Volunteers at No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide

Jones and Larry Scott look like they’re going to roll with Jarrett Guarantano at quarterback again. Guarantano is in just his second start, and he nearly led the Vols to a last-second victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks last week.

Of course, Alabama is on a totally different level than South Carolina. And this game is on the road.

If the Vols do indeed get blown out, it looks like Butch Jones could be fired Sunday or Monday. That would at least be the right move.

Worst-case scenario for Tennessee would be to play Alabama close and still lose. They might then screw up and keep Jones until the end of the year, missing out on other potential coaches.
