At 3-4 and 0-4 in the SEC, Tennessee football is headed up to Kentucky to face the Wildcats on the road. Despite winning 31 of 32 games against Kentucky, the Vols head in as shocking underdogs.
Given Butch Jones’s hot seat, Kentucky’s significantly better record and the fact that the Wildcats are at home, it makes sense. A win would make Kentucky bowl eligible for the second straight year under Mark Stoops. It would also all but guarantee that Butch Jones gets fired.
However, a Tennessee win puts the Vols on track to potentially have a strong finish to the season. It also continues their dominance over Kentucky and forces the Wildcats to wait another week before reaching bowl eligibility.
Here is all the information you need for Tennessee football’s game Saturday.
Tennessee Volunteers vs. Kentucky Wildcats

The Vols are going to roll with Jarrett Guarantano as their starting quarterback for the third straight game. Although that could have potentially changed, the Knoxville News Sentinel’s report that Quinten Dormady would be unavailable probably means he’ll start the whole game.
If they win, though, they could be in great position to finish 9-4 once again. All of their games are winnable down the stretch, although they will all be tough, and then they could win a bowl game to finish in the Top 25 for a third straight year.

It’s a long shot, but the Vols have finished strong in the past. At that point, Butch Jones may have a strong case to be able to keep his job. However, that may not be something that many Tennessee football fans want.
