Small Forward

1. Jaime Nared

One of the proven stars returning from last year, Jaime Nared will clearly resume her role as a starter. But with Diamond DeShields gone, we’re projecting a bit of a shake-up here. Nared is going to start more on the wing, which she can clearly do with her 6’2″ frame. And that will allow the senior to get more involved with the Tennessee Lady Vols’ system.

Remember, Nared still had 53 assists last year, so if she moves over she can definitely handle the point-forward position at times. That may be necessary considering the fact that Holly Warlick likely has to turn to a freshman at point guard.

With her ability to shoot so well from three and the proof that she can rebound and avoid turnovers, this is the best spot for Nared. As a senior, it could allow her to thrive.

2. Kortney Dunbar

Kortney Dunbar makes this one rare position on the 2017-2018 Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team that returns two players. And it’s two seniors at that. As a junior last year, Dunbar played in 24 games. This year, at 6’2″, she probably figures to have a bigger role so Holly Warlick can get her players more rest.

If not, then Meme Jackson will move back here and there will be no true backup point guard. And Jackson may still be the main backup here. But with us having her at the point, that leaves room for Dunbar. And with two seniors on the wing, this could be a very experienced unit.
