Tennessee football’s home game against the LSU Tigers headlines our 2017 Week 12 predictions for the Volunteers along with other SEC and Top 25 games.

We’ve got two more weeks left in the regular season. And while Tennessee football fans think about the future, the Vols are among the teams with two games left. This weekend, it starts with a big game against the LSU Tigers.

With interim head coach Brady Hoke now leading the program and the Vols looking for a spark at home against a Top 25 team, the possibility of a bowl game is still on the table. That makes this an intriguing game to pick.

And it’s one of many intriguing predictions for us to deliver this week. Before we get into our Week 12 SEC and Top 25 predictions, let’s look at where we are.

Here is our recap of how we did last week.

Record for Week 10 predictions: 8-5

Against the spread: 7-6

On the Over/Under: 5-8

And here’s a look at how we’ve fared all year in these categories.

Record for overall predictions: 85-34

Against the spread: 55-51-2

On the Over/Under: 57-49

So we had a bad week on the over/under. A late touchdown by the Florida Gators against the South Carolina Gamecocks hurt us there.

Meanwhile, the fourth quarter of the Mississippi State-Alabama game cost us in that realm. As for the spread, we were above .500 again for the third time in four weeks. And we could’ve done better if not for a two-point conversion by the Oklahoma State Cowboys in their win over the Iowa State Cyclones.

When we were wrong, though, we were really wrong. Yes, I’ll admit to picking the Michigan State Spartans, TCU Horned Frogs and Georgia Bulldogs to win. Those were all bad ones.

Nonetheless, we nailed Tennessee football’s blowout loss to the Missouri Tigers even if we missed on the over/under. And we’re above .500 for the year against the spread and on the Over/Under. So while sitting pretty, let’s get to it again.

This week’s slate isn’t as exciting. It features only one non-conference Top 25 game. Meanwhile, there are none in the SEC. In fact, four SEC teams have non-conference games against FCS or low-level Group of Five schools.

But there are five games featuring two SEC schools, and four of them have major bowl game implications. So there’s still a lot of excitement of the 10 games we’re about to pick. As always, Tennessee football’s match-up is last. These are our Week 12 Vols, SEC and Top 25 predictions.
