The success of the early signing period only emboldened Jeremy Pruitt and Tennessee football’s staff, as the Volunteers continued to offer players Thursday.

Just a day after Tennessee football had a very successful early signing period, the Vols coaches were out in full force again offering more players. Four prospects received offers from Tennessee football, including two for 2018 and two more for 2019.

Of all the offers, the one that stands out was three-star cornerback Maurice Hampton. Hampton is committed to the LSU Tigers, but he has not yet signed.

On top of that, this guy is from Memphis and went to MUS. So he could definitely be swayed, and he did announce the offer.

The Vols also offered three-star Texas defensive tackle Moro Ojomo. Ojomo, out of Katy High School in Katy, Texas, stands at 6’3″ 265 pounds. He’s also a three-star on Rivals.

Despite being three-stars, both of these guys would be significant boosts to the Tennessee football recruiting class for 2018. The offers to them show Pruitt’s clear focus on defense and toughness for this class.

Meanwhile, he’s also looking ahead to 2019. And the Vols offered two prospects for that class as well.

The first actually was to California prospect Mykael Wright. A four-star cornerback on Rivals, Wright comes from Valencia High School in Valencia, Calif. and is a Top 25 player at his position.

Following Wright, the Vols went in-state and offered Tymon Mitchell. Mitchell is a defensive tackle from Franklin Road Academy in Nashville, Tenn.

A three-star on Rivals, the 2019 prospect already stands at 6’3″ 285 pounds. And you can bet Tennessee football already has a great chance with him.

Again, even for 2019, Pruitt is clearly focusing on defense and toughness. That shows with the way he restructured the Vols’ recruiting class for this year and who he targeted in the early signing period.

Right now, cornerbacks and defensive tackles are the name of the game for Tennessee football. And Pruitt put a focus on them with all four offers in the wake of the early signing period.
