The No. 7 Tennessee Lady Vols face the No. 18 Stanford Cardinal on the road Thursday. Here is the preview for the women’s basketball Volunteers.

They’ve been on a roll all season, and the Tennessee Lady Vols once again have a tough test Thursday night. However, it’s not as tough of a test as many people thought it would have been at the beginning of the year.

Holly Warlick’s team is still in California to take on the No. 18 ranked Stanford Cardinal. This game follows another road game in the state. They blew out Long Beach State on Sunday.

At 11-0, the combination of the young talent and the veteran presence of Mercedes Russell and Jaime Nared has worked very well for this team so far. A win at Stanford Thursday night would only further validate that.

Here is all the information you need for the game.

No. 7 Tennessee Lady Volunteers at No. 18 Stanford Cardinal

When: Thursday, Dec. 21 at 9 p.m. E.T.

Where: Maples Pavilion; Stanford, Calif.

TV: Pac-12 Network

Live Stream: Pac-12 Live

Stanford has played a brutal schedule so far this year, which is why they are still in the Top 25 despite only being 6-5. Two of those losses are to the Ohio State Buckeyes, one is to the Baylor Bears and another is to the UCONN Huskies. All of them were in the Top 10 when they beat the Cardinal.

However, these losses appear to have taken a toll on the team. And they are now coming off of a shocking home loss to the Western Illinois Leathernecks.

That means this game has now changed from a great opportunity for the Tennessee Lady Vols into a one where they have little to gain and a lot to lose. Still, this would be their third Top 25 of the non-conference season.

And with their next game being their SEC opener on New Year’s Day, the Tennessee Lady Vols would like nothing more than to head into it undefeated. It’ll take a tough win Thursday to get there.
