The Tennessee women’s basketball Volunteers are undefeated. Find out if that’s enough to put them at No. 1 in this week’s SEC Power Rankings.

Just in time for the hard part of the Tennessee Lady Vols’ season to begin, we bring you our first round of our women’s basketball SEC Power Rankings. A day after the college football national championship and the unveiling of our men’s SEC Power Rankings, it’s clear basketball season is in full swing.

When it comes to the women, the SEC is just as loaded as it is among the men. In fact, since it has the two teams who played for the most recent national championship, it’s likely better since the top is playing at a higher level.

There are nine teams that are at least on the NCAA Tournament bubble right now. Two more could feasibly play their way into the race within the next couple of weeks.

So this league is filled with teams who have a lot to play for. And that’s already made it exciting.

Just like the men, we are three games into the women’s season in the conference for most teams. And our SEC Power Rankings continue to favor the most recent games with head to head, record and schedule strength all in the criteria.

Where games were played and margin of victory come into the fold to a lesser extent as well. So there are numerous things we look at.

Like every year, this will be a weekly thing for the rest of the college basketball regular season. We’ll have the men’s SEC Power Rankings on Monday and the women’s SEC Power Rankings on Tuesday.

Now let’s get started for our first set of rankings. This is how the SEC women’s basketball teams stack up after the first full week of conference play.
