Another team with a losing record in the SEC, the Auburn Tigers have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of at this point. After all, their losses came to the undefeated Tennessee Lady Vols, with whom they were tied at the end of three quarters, and the Texas A&M Aggies, one of the elite teams in the conference.

So, despite, their No. 90 strength of schedule that gives less credence to their 10-5 record in the RPI than it does to Arkansas’s 10-6 record, we have enough to keep them ahead of the Razorbacks right now in our SEC Power Rankings. Again, we have to look at how the teams are playing right now.

And since conference play began, Auburn has looked better. It may not last, but it’s been the case so far.

These guys were competitive with Tennessee and the Aggies. And it was just against the Florida Gators, but they still blew that team out 84-55. So we are willing to give them some respect.

Terri Williams-Flourney needed some time, but she’s turned around the Tigers with two straight NCAA Tournament appearances. If they’re going to make it a third, they need to start reeling off some big wins.

A road game against the South Carolina Gamecocks this week will be brutal. But after that, they have a four-game stretch in which all are winnable. They host the Arkansas Razorbacks, then they visit the LSU Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs before coming back home to host the next team in our SEC Power Rankings.
