It was a bittersweet day for Tennessee football fans. Quinten Dormady announced his transfer from the Volunteers, but they reinstated Jauan Jennings.
Talk about a breaking news day! Tennessee football lost its starting quarterback from the beginning of last year, but the Vols reportedly reinstated their No. 1 receiver heading into the beginning of last year.
Dormady was the starter for the first five games of the Tennessee football season. He led the Vols to a 3-2 record, including a huge win in overtime against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to start the season.
However, after a bye week, he lost his starting job to Jarrett Guarantano and then suffered a season-ending injury. He announced his decision to transfer on Twitter.

While Dormady’s departure is not what Jeremy Pruitt wanted his first year in trying to find a starting quarterback, he’ll at least have a weapon back at wide receiver. It looks like Jauan Jennings is set to rejoin the team with stipulations.
The previous coaching staff dismissed Jennings under the leadership of interim head coach Brady Hoke. His dismissal came three days before they would coach their final game for Tennessee football.
It occurred after Jennings released a social media rant he made against the staff. Meanwhile, John Currie, who is no longer athletic director, signed off on the move.
As a result, it only made sense to bring Jennings back. And new AD Phillip Fulmer met with him last week. It was only a matter of time before Pruitt met with him.
Trey Wallace of The Read Optional and John Brice of Gridiron Now both tweeted out the return of Jennings.
Both @JohnDBrice1 & I have worked on the Jauan Jennings situation for a while now & can confirm Jennings will be reinstated to the team but must abide by certain stipulations. #Tennessee

If Jennings truly is back, then Tennessee football has something to start with for next year. Pruitt has a quarterback coming in with JT Shrout. He still also has Guarantano along with Will McBride.
As a result, the Vols will have some options and a solid, open competition. Combine that with Jennings and Marquez Callaway on the outside, and they could have a very solid team coming back on offense.
