Comparing Cuonzo Martin and Rick Barnes and two former Tennessee Vols in the NFL lead our Thursday, Jan. 17, 2018 periscope video show on the Volunteers.

Our video coverage of the Tennessee Vols today included some brutal analysis of one team and one coach. It also involved a bit of cheerleading, though, and there was significant cheerleading of another sport as well.

Coming off a Tennessee Vols men’s basketball loss, we had to objectively break down a couple of things nobody wants to talk about in this show. Then there was some good news following the football program, but it involves former Vols.

Finally, we previewed another Lady Vols game. Here is the full periscope show. Below is a summary of everything we talked about.

1. Cuonzo Martin is outperforming Rick Barnes.

Both of these coaches have ties to the Tennessee Vols. And in his first year with the Missouri Tigers, I go into detail as to why Martin right now is outperforming Barnes. However, there are some positives after Tennessee basketball’s loss at Mizzou that I bring up as well.

2. Two former Tennessee Vols are All-Rookie players.

Alvin Kamara and Derek Barnett both made NFL All-Rookie teams. In this video, I talked about how Barnett is still going to be better than Myles Garrett. Meanwhile, I also broke down Kamara’s numbers and how they serve as an indictment against Butch Jones.

3. Lady Vols face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

After splitting against the Texas A&M Aggies and South Carolina Gamecocks, I previewed the Lady Vols’ match-up against No. 5 ranked Notre Dame on the road scheduled for Thursday night. Despite being a non-conference game, it’s a huge one for this team.
