Last week: Defeated Ole Miss Rebels and Arkansas Razorbacks

Last rank: 4th

That’s right. The Missouri Tigers still have that incredible win over the South Carolina Gamecocks. And A’ja Wilson did at least play in that game. As a result, the win is even more impressive. That combined with the Tennessee Lady Vols looking awful last week was enough for us to move this team up in this week’s SEC Power Rankings.

Yes, the Ole Miss Rebels and Arkansas Razorbacks aren’t the most impressive wins. But they won those games by 19 and 34 points respectively, so blowing them out like that is impressive. That fluke four-point loss to the LSU Tigers at home is the only reason these guys aren’t No. 2 in these rankings.

In fact, both of their losses were fluke close losses at home. They could easily be undefeated right now with the No. 32 ranked strength of schedule, which isn’t bad, and numerous quality wins.

The Tigers have gotten better every year under Robin Pingeton as head coach. Now, in her sixth year, it continues to come together in an amazing way. This’ll be their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance, and now they only have to think about seeding.

They are about to have more tests coming up to improve their RPI. Their next three games are all conference games against Top 25 RPI teams. One is against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, the other is a rematch with South Carolina. But it starts with a road trip to face the next team in our SEC Power Rankings.
