A major weekend of recruiting visits for the Tennessee Vols football program leads the Volunteers periscope video show for Friday, Jan. 26, 2018.

The Tennessee Vols were set to kick off the weekend with major track and field and swimming and diving events. We mentioned the fact that there wasn’t a lot of football news in our morning report as a result.

However, our afternoon analysis is a different story. There is big news to get to on that. We also have scheduled games to discuss in two separate sports.

That’s the basic rundown for our video show this afternoon. It’s pretty reflective of what’s going on in Knoxville right now in every way.

So here is our video show. And as always, you can see the summary of everything we discussed numbered below it.

1. Big weekend of recruiting visits

The Tennessee Vols football team is hosting six recruits for 2018 this weekend. One is a four-star committed to Tennessee. Two are four-stars committed to other schools, but they could end up flipping to UT. Another two are three-stars that are seriously considering Rocky Top, and a fourth is a five-star whom the Vols could get into play for after he visits this weekend.

2. Tennessee basketball in the SEC-Big 12 challenge

The Tennessee Vols basketball team will take on the Iowa State Cyclones on the road Saturday in the SEC vs. Big 12 challenge. This game is tougher than they might want it to be. At the same time, it’s very important for what it could do for the Vols.

3. Tennessee Lady Vols at LSU Sunday

Coming off a hideous win over the Ole Miss Rebels Thursday, the Tennessee Lady Vols are back on the road to face the LSU Tigers Sunday. It’s the first of a two-game stand that gives them a chance to make up for losing three of four big games over the previous two weeks.
