Last week: Lost to Arkansas Razorbacks and Kansas State Wildcats

Last rank: 11th

The Georgia Bulldogs are another decent team. But the moves other teams in the conference made this past week forced us to drop them in our SEC Power Rankings. On its face, there’s nothing that embarrassing about losing to the Arkansas Razorbacks and Kansas State Wildcats.

However, losing to those teams when they were already low in our rankings was going to forces us to drop them more. And now, they are next to last in our SEC Power Rankings.

Mark Fox’s team is now on a three-game skid, and they need to right the ship. After all, there’s still a lot for these guys to play for.

The NCAA Tournament is still in play in a major way. The Dawgs, after all, are No. 60 in the RPI with the No. 50 ranked strength of schedule. That schedule strength is likely to continue to go up, though moving forward.

After all, the team still has two games against the Florida Gators and Tennessee Vols each. Add in another game against the Auburn Tigers and another game against the South Carolina Gamecocks, and they’ll have plenty of chances to add to their quality wins. But with those tough games, they likely need to win seven of their final 10 games to draw NCAA Tournament consideration. It’s doable, but it will be tough.

They at least have three games against teams No. 70 or below in the rankings. Winning those and four of the other seven is what they need.
