Tennessee football is going hard after Alabama Crimson Tide commit Quay Walker. But more signs are showing the linebacker could flip to the Volunteers.

For a month now, there has been talk about Tennessee football trying to flip four-star linebacker Quay Walker. But on Wednesday, even more signs of that becoming of a reality popped up in recruiting news.

Walker has been committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide for a while. However, based on this SEC Country story and numerous other reports, he appears to have always more committed to Jeremy Pruitt than anything. And with Pruitt pursuing him, Walker taking a visit to Knoxville, and four-star linebacker JJ Peterson, who is friends with Walker, committing to the Vols and then saying they could flip Quay Walker, it makes sense for Vols fans to think a flip is coming.

Well, it appears the Alabama coaching staff is thinking that as well. The Tide offered a scholarship to Conway, S.C. prospect Jaylen Moody on Wednesday.

Moody is only a two-star linebacker on Rivals, so it seems odd that Nick Saban and his staff would extend that offer. However, they could be getting desperate.

247Sports reporter Hank South noted that Walker is one of two linebackers Alabama is in danger of losing. He added that the uncertainty is what got the staff to show interest in Moody.

Moody is also taking an official visit to Tuscaloosa. Again, this wouldn’t happen if the Tide weren’t desperate and fearing that they would lose Walker along with Vernon Jackson.

Other reporters feel as much. Blake Morgan of SEC Country said he thinks Walker will flip to the Vols on National Signing Day. He added that Pruitt plans to go in-home with Walker this week, showing that they really believe a flip is coming.

Meanwhile, Chris Kirschner covers the Tide for SEC Country. And in an article he posted Wednesday, he said that he expects Walker to sign elsewhere. He also noted that for Walker, it’s down to Tennessee football and Georgia.

Well, given Walker’s relationship with Pruitt and Peterson, that’s a huge plus. As a result, it’s safe to say that it appears Walker will sign with the Vols at this point. Tennessee football has to be the favorite based on all the signs. And that’s huge for Pruitt and his staff.
