National Signing Day for the Tennessee Vols was better than people say it was. We dive into why on our Volunteers periscope show for Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018.

After being off on Wednesday to cover all of National Signing Day in real time, we returned to our show covering the Tennessee Vols on Thursday. And part of that coverage was recapping what happened on the recruiting trail for Jeremy Pruitt’s first class.

In this version of our Rocky Top periscope coverage, I go in a little bit of a different direction from the national media on National Signing Day. Overall commentary on the Vols’ recruiting day is off base in numerous ways. Also, since we didn’t have a show on Wednesday, I recap a huge men’s basketball win, and I also have a Lady Vols preview.

So let’s begin our Tennessee Vols periscope show for today. Here is the link to it, and as always, you can see our summary of the show below.

1. Tennessee Vols National Signing Day wasn’t so bad.

Missing out on top recruits all day became frustrating for many Tennessee football fans. However, perspective is required here. Jeremy Pruitt took a horrendous class in December and made it into a formidable one. In today’s show, I discuss all the positives that many people on Rocky Top keep forgetting about when they discuss what happened Wednesday.

2. Men’s basketball is rolling.

Tennessee basketball scored a huge win over the Kentucky Wildcats Tuesday night, completing a regular season sweep of them for the first time since 1999. With the win, the Tennessee Vols look like a top three seed in the NCAA Tournament. They also dispelled a myth about them, and the sweep made for one of the most unique sports years in school history.

3. Tennessee Lady Vols back on the court.

The Tennessee Lady Vols take the court against the Arkansas Razorbacks Thursday night on their first winning streak since they were undefeated.
