The Tennessee Volunteers fell back into the pack in our Men’s basketball SEC Power Rankings for Monday, Feb. 12, 2018 after Saturday’s loss.

Tennessee basketball’s winning streak came to an end over the weekend. And their loss played a huge role in once again creating another mess of our SEC Power Rankings.

After a week of splits, upsets, and streaks ending, the conference is more even than ever. But it’s loaded with a bunch of very good teams who continue to beat up on each other.

Right now, there are seven teams in the conference in the Top 40 of the RPI. Another one is in the Top 50, and another is in the Top 60. That makes for half the conference guaranteed to be in the NCAA Tournament if the season ends today and two more firmly on the bubble.

At the same time, there are three teams in the No. 76 to No. 83 range who could get onto the bubble with one quick streak. So, keeping track of all this, it’s pretty clear why our SEC Power Rankings are tough to do.

And this week, it’s even tougher than last week. Why? Well, last week there was a clear No. 1 and a clear bottom. But there’s now no clear-cut first-place or last-place team. To be fair, there is a bottom three. But everything else is completely fair game.

With four teams 6-6, two teams 7-5 and one team 5-7 in the conference, half the league is all within a game or two of each other. Two more 8-4 teams don’t make much of a difference.

So let’s take a look at how we sorted all of these teams out. These are our men’s basketball SEC Power Rankings for the week of Monday, Feb. 12, 2018.
