Last week: Lost to Tennessee Volunteers and Missouri Tigers

Last rank: 9th

The Arkansas Razorbacks have no shame in the two losses they suffered last week. In fact, if it weren’t for another team earning the move up our SEC Power Rankings, they didn’t do anything to fall the one spot that they did fall.

After all, the Hogs gave the Tennessee Lady Vols all they had in a fight that finished with a five-point loss. However, we have to be fair. The Missouri Tigers did blow them out in embarrassing fashion, which is enough to show that playing Tennessee close wasn’t going to move them up.

On top of that, Arkansas fell below .500 with their two losses last week. They have now lost nine of their last 11 games, waking up to reality the minute they set foot in conference play. As a result, we can’t prop them up too much in these rankings.

Like the Florida Gators, Arkansas is also working under a first-year head coach in Mike Neighbors. So like Florida, this is a rebuilding year for the Hogs, and they are just working to develop consistency. At least they have an RPI in the Top 100, albeit barely at No. 98. That’s due to their No. 40 ranked strength of schedule.

And two of their final four games are against the lower tier teams in the conference. So maybe they can finish decent. That’ll be proven with their next game on the road against the next team in our SEC Power Rankings.
