Previewing the Tennessee Vols vs. Florida and a recap of a baseball game along with a coaching clinic lead the Volunteers news for Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018.
The Tennessee Vols spring sports continue to be in full swing, and this warm weather throughout the Eastern portion of the United States makes it really seem like spring is already here. Those sports continue to lead our news in Knoxville.
As we get set to bring you our updates on Rocky Top for today, not much has changed. We simply have a recap of one game to bring you and a preview of another.
There is, however, an intriguing football story to discuss. And we’ll start with that, since it’s a bit unique to the morning report.
Jeremy Pruitt enlists big names for coaching clinic – John Brice, Gridiron Now
Tennessee Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt is turning to the three big names from the offensive fire power of the 1990s to head his first coaching clinic. Those names include Phillip Fulmer, David Cutcliffe and Peyton Manning.
"Fulmer, Manning and Cutcliffe united for the first of Tennessee’s back-to-back SEC championships in 1997-98."

The Tennessee Vols baseball team improved to 2-2 on the season with an 8-5 win Tuesday over Lipscomb Tuesday night. Freshman Zach Daniels was the major difference in the game by hitting a grand slam.

Tennessee basketball hosts Florida Gators Wednesday – UTSports
The Tennessee Vols men’s basketball team returns home Wednesday night in an attempt to get back on track. Tennessee has lost two of three games to the Alabama Crimson Tide, which was by 28 points, and to the Georgia Bulldogs. Both were on the road, and their only win was a close, ugly one by three points at home to the South Carolina Gamecocks sandwiched in between the losses. Rick Barnes’s team will host the Florida Gators Wednesday night looking to start winning again.
"The Volunteers (19-7, 9-5 SEC) have just four games left and each one is equally as important when it comes to a top-four seeding for the SEC Tournament in two weeks. UT currently sits in second place, one game ahead of a four-way tie for third place, including the Gators."
