The Tennessee Lady Vols finish the regular season with a home game against the No. 7 Gamecocks. Here is the preview for the women’s basketball Volunteers.

With an outside shot at a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament, the Tennessee Lady Vols close out the 2017-2018 regular season looking for one more quality win. And it comes in the form of the South Carolina Gamecocks.

This is a revenge game for Dawn Staley’s team. At 23-5 and 12-3 in the SEC, one of their losses was at home to Tennessee by a wide margin. They did not have A’ja Wilson that day, so this game is going to be much more intriguing for them.

At 22-6 and 10-5 in the SEC, the Tennessee Lady Vols, meanwhile, would like to head into the conference tournament on a winning streak. They know they should be 24-4 and 12-3 right now but blew games to the Texas A&M Aggies and then at home to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

As a result, this is a huge game for Holly Warlick’s young team. It’s also the final regular season game with Tennessee for Mercedes Russell and Jaime Nared. Here is all the information you need for the match-up.

No. 7 South Carolina Gamecocks at No. 15 Tennessee Lady Volunteers

When: Sunday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. E.T.

Where: Thompson Boling Arena; Knoxville, Tenn.

TV: ESPN2

South Carolina got hit with a dose of reality that this isn’t the same as last year’s team with blowout losses in one week to the UConn Huskies and Mississippi State Bulldogs. However, they are still a very good and dangerous team.

The Tennessee Lady Vols could do with such a huge quality win, so this game is going to be crucial to them. Currently, they are ranked No. 15 in the nation but looking at a No. 3 seed in most bracketology projections.

A win here could move them into the conversation for a No. 2 seed in the tournament. However, if they lose, they will be a 4-seed and could be staring at a 5-seed depending on what happens in the SEC Tournament.
