The Tennessee Lady Volunteers will face South Carolina Friday in the quarterfinals of the women’s basketball SEC Tournament. Here is the preview for it.

Coming off a close victory over the Auburn Tigers Thursday, the Tennessee Lady Vols advanced to the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. And now, they have a much tougher test facing them.

Holly Warlick’s team will face the South Carolina Gamecocks in a quest for a third victory over them on the year. They blew them out twice in the regular season, but both times came without A’ja Wilson.

In this game, the Dawn Staley’s team might be without Wilson again. However, things could be a little more even in this game if Wilson is out. That’s because Jaime Nared suffered a hip injury Thursday and had to leave the Auburn game.

As of the Friday morning of the game, the status of both players is unclear. That makes for an interesting match-up. Here’s everything you need to know about the game.

No. 12 Tennessee Lady Volunteers vs. No. 8 South Carolina Gamecocks

When: Friday, March 2 at 7 p.m. E.T.

Where: Bridgestone Arena; Nashville, Tenn.

TV: SEC Network

Live Stream: WatchESPN

The winner of this game will advance to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament. They will face the winner of the Missouri Tigers and Georgia Lady Bulldogs.

Tennessee blew out Georgia this year at home but lost to Mizzou on the road. With the tournament taking place in Nashville, just getting past South Carolina gives them an amazing chance to make it to Sunday.

After all, the Lady Vols could beat either of those teams. It’s just unclear if they could beat the Gamecocks with Wilson on the floor. And we don’t know if Wilson will be on the floor or even how healthy Nared will be. So that makes this game impossible to predict.

Right now, Tennessee has at least locked up a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. However, if they win a third game against South Carolina, they will head into Saturday with a great chance to secure a No. 2 seed.

Getting to the SEC Tournament championship would be enough for them to earn that seeding, even if they get blown out by the Mississippi State Bulldogs. But before that, they have to get past the Gamecocks one more time.
