The Tennessee Vols dominating in the NCAA Tournament and look-aheads to the next games lead our Volunteers video show for Friday, March 16, 2018.

Happy Friday! The Tennessee Vols NCAA Tournament openers on the men’s and women’s sides are in the books, and now we have the second round to look ahead to for both teams. That’ll be the focus of today.

March Madness has everybody going crazy, and there are other things around the tournament that affect the Vols. We’ll get to that too.

So, with lots to discuss, here is our Tennessee Vols Periscope video show for Friday, March 16. And as always, you can find a summary of our discussion below.

1. Tennessee basketball dominates Wright St., advance to play Loyola

The Tennessee Vols basketball team beat the Wright State Raiders by 26 on Thursday. It was a complete performance. They now advance to play the Loyola Chicago Ramblers on Saturday evening. That’s a game in which Rick Barnes’s team will be everybody’s biggest villain because of the storyline surrounding Wright State. So watch out.

2. NCAA Tournament bracket effect on Vols

At this point, the Vols already are affected by Loyola Chicago’s upset over Miami. But outside of that, there are no shockers on their end. The Cincinnati Bearcats beat Georgia State, and there’s no shocker either way between the Texas Longhorns and the Nevada Wolf Pack. However, Vols fans should want Nevada to win since they’re an easier match-up in the Sweet Sixteen. On the other end, one major threat to them is gone. On top of that, the SEC had a red hot start to the day.

2. Tennessee Lady Vols destroy Liberty, advance to face Oregon St.

The Tennessee Lady Vols put on an offensive clinic Friday afternoon to throttle the Liberty Flames 100-60. With the win, they will advance to Sunday to host the Oregon State Beavers, the No. 6 seed in their bracket.
