The insane incompetence of former Tennessee Vols athletic director John Currie leads our Volunteers periscope show for Friday, March 23, 2018.

What a crazy morning of news for the Tennessee Vols! Well, you know where we’re going to be going on our video periscope show for today. It’s clearly going to rehash everything that happened back in November and December.

In what is hopefully a Happy Friday for all of you, we’ve got an incredible story of lying, incompetence, and hilarity. Tennessee football fans are finally able to get closure from something that happened at the end of last season.

But to do that, we bring back up everything that happened. And that leads our show. So let’s get to it. As always, you can find our summary of what we talked about below. Hint: The entire summary surrounds the break from John Currie, who reached a settlement with the university Thursday. And it involves the emails and text messages released from last November’s fiasco.

1. John Currie truly was incompetent.

Documents showed how John Currie handled his coaching search. It wasn’t all bad at first, as he targeted Chip Kelly and Dan Mullen. But then he went for Greg Schiano, knowing there would be a backlash. That proves he truly was Jimmy Haslam’s puppet. His removal, though came in a last-ditch attempt to pursue Mike Leach. And that reveals his incompetence. Any slightly intelligent move would’ve saved him and gotten them Leach, which I will detail.

2. All for Tennessee looks like a genius site.

I wrote this article today about how I predicted everything that would happen with John Currie at Tennessee. It came true sooner than I thought, and it was truer than I thought. But it’s worth bragging about how right we were.

3. Tennessee fans and Phillip Fulmer vindicated.

It looks like Phillip Fulmer had nothing to do with sabotaging the Tennessee Vols coaching search. The emails and text messages reveal that, so anybody who suggested it owes him an apology. Tennessee fans are also owed an apology, as it’s clear now they were targeted by media members colluding with Currie to defend the Greg Schiano hire.
