With Tennessee basketball’s 2017-2018 season over, let’s recap the year. These are the final grades for all the Volunteers on the team.

After being picked to finish 13th in the SEC, Tennessee basketball overachieved so much that fans were disappointed after a second round exit from the NCAA Tournament. Such an accomplishment was huge for the Vols, and it has fans extremely excited about next year.

But who gets the credit for what went on this year? Which individuals really made the most effort to carry this team?

Despite 12 guys capable of being regulars in the rotation this year, Barnes only went seven-deep consistently. That left a lot on the court for some players and, with all but one returning, gives everybody an extremely bright outlook for next year.

In this post, we’re going to break down how each individual performed for Tennessee basketball throughout the year. This post analyzes how good they were overall, whether or not they maximized their potential, and how well they played their specific role.

All of those things were factors into the Vols’ 26-9 record that led them to an SEC regular season co-championship and a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Here, we’re going to grade each person in how they did their job.

What is clear is that this ragtag group of three-stars was the most overachieving bunch in the nation this year. It’s like a classroom of a bunch of kids who come from little support and they all somehow reach honor roll.

That’s exactly what happened with this year’s Vols. So let’s separate them individually now to see which players get the most credit. These are the final individual grades for the 2017-2018 men’s Tennessee basketball season.
