Admiral Schofield has NBA workouts upcoming. It shouldn’t surprise anyone if he flourishes in the spotlight.

Tennessee Basketball’s junior forward, Admiral Schofield announced that he was entering his name into the NBA draft without an agent. I think we all can agree that it is a smart move by Schofield. The experience he is going to get can only help him and the Vols next season.

That’s if he comes back next season. I’m not suggesting that he will get drafted, but you have to like Schofield’s chances to impress anyone, and everyone that speaks to him or that watches him workout.

Schofield appeared in all 35 games last season for the Vols and started most of them. He quickly became a leader for the team as he enhanced his scoring output from 8.2 points per game to 13.9 points per game.

He had a three-game span against Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Georgia where he scored over 20 points in each game. And, along with the scoring, Schofield also showed statical improvements in steals, assists, and rebounds.

One of the most impressive parts of Schofield’s game this past year was his ability to stretch the floor and knock down the three-point jumper. His sophomore season, Schofield only attempted 1.9 three-point shots per game and knocked down 38.9 percent of those shots.

He took that part of his game to another level by attempting 4.6 attempts per game by draining 39.5 percent of those shots.

Along with all the improvements of his game, Schofield is a well-spoken young man and a great teammate. Sometimes that goes a long way when evaluating talent and taking a chance on paying a player millions of dollars.

My best bet is Schofield will turn some heads in the NBA ranks, and they will be ready for him next season.

Along with Grant Williams, Tennessee will have two players that should be First Team All-SEC preseason and could make substantial considerations for NCAA Players of the Year.
