The Vols Orange and White Game is only three days away. This spring game should be exciting now that the Butch Jones era is, over.

So long to the days for Tennessee football where a first down was worth one point and a defensive three-and-out were worth one point. Oh, the stupid rules of the Butch Jones spring games.

Last year the score was 70-63 in favor of the orange team. There was a four-game span (Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Kentucky) that the Vols did not score 70 points combined. No wonder why Butch added stupid points to inflate the scores.

As you know, the Butch days are over, and new head coach Jeremy Pruitt is going back to the traditional conservative type of football game. Yeah, the Vols are actually going to play a football game during this year’s version of the Orange and White Game.

Orange and White Game Information

#1 Offense and #2 Defense vs. #2 Offense and #1 Defense

Time: 2:00 pm ET

Vol Walk: 12:55 pm ET

TV: SEC Network

Stream: WatchESPN

After a 4-8 dreadful season, Tennessee fans just want to see some football. The record number of attendance in program history was set back in 1986 with 73,801 fans. If that many fans can come out in 1986 surely, at least 90,000 fans can attend this year. After all, fans are hungry for some football. Did I mention the cost is free.

Coach Pruitt is not just asking for fans to show up; he is telling everyone to make it a priority.

"“I expect our fanbase to be there, and we need it as a football team, we need it as a football program.”"

This is just the beginning of what the football program will look like under Pruitt. Expect to be impressed with the play on the field Saturday. And, if you’re not at least, you will be watching a real football instead of quarterbacks getting a one for throwing a ball into a trashcan.
