The Orange and White Game is less than 24 hours away, and it is almost time for Tennessee football. Here is a look at how the rosters shake out.

It’s football time in Tennessee, well almost anyways. This years edition of the Vols football team will take the field tomorrow for the annual DISH Orange and White Game.

On Friday morning the rosters were revealed by the Tennessee Football Twitter account. Take a look below.

The Orange Team consist of the first-team offense paired with the second-team defense. And the White Team consist of the second-team offense with the first-team defense.

There were not too many surprises when it came to the rosters. Jarrett Guarantano received the nod as the first-team quarterback. Ty Chandler will start things off in the backfield with Tim Jordan as his backup. Again, not surprising but will that stay the same when freshman, Jeremey Banks gets to campus?

  • The wide receiver positions look the same as Marquez Callaway, Brandon Johnson, and Josh Palmer get the nod with the first-team. Callaway and Johnson were the most productive last season with 61 receptions for 888 yards and six touchdowns combined.

Eli Wolf, the younger brother of former Vols tight end Ethan Wolf, gets the start at the tight end position to help in the passing game.

We have been hearing a lot about the four-star recruit from Cordova, TN in Jerome Carvin. The hard work has paid off with the start on the first-team Saturday. I will be interesting to see how Carvin can handle a defensive line that has been playing well in spring practice.

The first-team defense has experience and on paper, they look like they could do some damage this season. Keep in mind; the Vols are banking on Darrin Kirkland Jr. and Daniel Bituli to be ready by the start of the season.

The usual suspects are starting up front of the new 3-4 look in Jonathan Kongbo, Shy Tuttle, and Kyle Phillips. Baylen Buchanan and Shawn Shamburger (nickel) on our the first-team defense as well. With Nigel Warrior and Micah Abernathy rounding out the secondary.

Notable mentions on the second-team are Alontae Taylor and Carlin Fils-aime at the cornerback position. It will be intriguing to see how they play in the secondary. Can they make some big plays to push for playing time with the first-teamers?

There is a lot of excitement around the program and for the Orange and White Game. There will finally be a real football game being played in April this year. Watch to see how the players compete in the new offensive and defensive systems.
