Three Tennessee football players were taken in the NFL Draft this year, a drop-off from the six who went last year. Rashaan Gaulden went in the third round to the Carolina Panthers, and John Kelly and Kahlil McKenzie went in the sixth round to the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs respectively. Meanwhile, the Vols had eight more players sign as undrafted free agents, bringing their total number of players who inked deals to 11. "Tennessee (25-21, 8-13 SEC) had a lead, lost it and then rallied to squeak out a 6-5 series finale win in 10 innings over Georgia on Sunday at Foley Field, and it was far from smooth. At least from the point that starter Will Neely left the game in the sixth inning."
