Tennessee football: Vols get a commitment from five-star Wanya Morris
Jeremy Pruitt and staff get their first top 50 recruit of the 2019 class with five-star Wanya Morris on Tuesday. This is good news for the Vols offensive line going forward.
Tennessee football received good news on Tuesday afternoon. Jeremey Pruitt and staff finally did it. There was a lot of chatter among fans about being worried the 2019 recruiting class was not going to be up to the SEC standards. Which, I might add is kind of dumb to me.
Tennessee Volunteers Football
Number one it is only May. A lot can change from now until the early signing period in December. Even after December, a lot can change. We saw what Pruitt and staff did this season with limited time.
Number two, this is the coaching staff’s first year together so winning recruits over Alabama, Georgia, and other teams in the SEC is going to be challenging until they can prove themselves.
Finally, number three, Pruitt is a lot like Rick Barnes when it comes to recruiting, he is going to offer kids that will fit his system and kids he likes. So, chill it is only May.
However, getting a commitment from four-star Wanya Morris on Tuesday afternoon was huge news to the Vols.
Morris is a big 6-foot-5, 239-pound junior that plays offensive tackle. And, quite honestly he could start on the offensive line this upcoming season for the Vols. Take a look at his highlight video below.
Paired with the commitment of Morris, offensive guard from Nashville, Tennessee, Jackson Lampley is also a four-star recruit in the 2019 class.
Tennessee signed four-star, Jerome Carvin in the 2018 class and if everything turns out to be okay with 2017 freshman All-American Trey Smith, the offensive line could easily flip from a weakness to one of the strongest positions on the team.

Pruitt and staff are working, and I know Vol fans don’t want to hear it, but they need time. Just be patient, and the recruiting class will turn out just fine. Pruitt will get the program turned around, aight.
