The Tennessee Vols have developed as a program thanks to people from across the country. Here are the top 10 Volunteers legends not from the state.

Rocky Top is a special place for many. The Tennessee Vols have produced legends that are known all over the world, and that has created a ton of pride among fans in Knoxville. But one reason they send legends out into the world is because many come from around the world.

UT attracts national talent, and it’s a huge reason that the school has such a loyal fan base. In all sports, the school has traveled far and wide to bring people in that will contribute. And that’s a cycle that has never ended.

Yes, the Tennessee Vols historically have relied on a ton of in-state talent for its success. And many of the legends come from within those borders. But the school has had plenty of help going beyond there.

And that’s what we’re going to look at in this post. We are going to rank the Top 10 legends from UT not born in the state.

For such national programs like Tennessee football and Tennessee women’s basketball, that would seem easy. Location has never been a barrier to the university getting talent into those programs.

But men’s Tennessee basketball is not much different. Legends from all sports come from everywhere in the country. And some of them are among the greatest legends in the history of the university, regardless of whether or not you include in-state talent.

So let’s go ahead and honor these people who came from elsewhere to turn the athletic program into what it is today. These are the Top 10 Tennessee Vols legends who were born outside of the state of Tennessee.
