5. 2017-18 at Kentucky

Another game that is fresh in the memory banks since it happened last season is the game at Kentucky.

I feel rather confident that I can write this same piece in ten years and this game would still make our list. There is no way to keep it off the list.

Yes, I know Kentucky wasn’t the typical Kentucky team. Honestly, they struggled most of the season even to look decent.

However, Tennessee basketball went into Rupp Arena and beat the Wildcats. Tennessee beating Kentucky in Rupp hasn’t been in the same sentence since the 2006 season.

All the pressure was on the Vols since they were looking to capture a sweep against the Wildcats for the first time since the 1999 season.

I remember watching the game and trying to figure out the three takeaways, and one was Turner was TOUGH. That’s Lamonte Turner of course. He led the Vols with 16 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the three-point line.

Tennessee was down two points with under 30 seconds to go in the game. Who stepped up? Lamonte Turner hit a huge three to give the Vols a one-point lead that they never gave away.

Final score: Tennessee 61, Kentucky 59
