3. St John’s Red Storm

Moving on to the number three team on the list is the St. John’s Red Storm. There is not any other reason than the Vols getting to travel to New York to play in Madison Square Garden.

  • With a team as good as Tennessee, surely the Storm would host the Vols in the Garden.

The Garden it would be a cool place for the Vols to play. There is a rich tradition with some of the most famous players in the world playing their best games in at MSG.

Former NBA player Chris Mullin is the head man for the Red Storm, and although the record hasn’t been great, he did pull some great upsets last season.

After an eleven game losing streak, the Red Storm beat #4 Duke and #1 Villanova in back-to-back games. It is tough to tell if St John’s will ever be good enough to be in the top 25 but would still be a quality road win for the Vols.

Plus hosting a team like St John’s would boost the resume over a no name that is usually on the schedule.

However, like we mentioned the opportunity to play at Madison Square Garden.
