No. 4 – September 29th at Georgia

Moving on to the fourth spot on our list is the game on September 29th at Georgia. Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs have given every indication that they are the team to beat in the SEC East.

  • Many can have reservations about how good Smart can be just because Mark Richt created a monster with the Georiga football program. Under Richt, the Bulldogs went 145-51 and played in a much tougher SEC East. No one can argue that the SEC East is a strong division anymore.

However, Smart is recruiting at high levels and even better than Alabama in the 2018 class. Speaking of recruiting, Jeremy Pruitt is owning the state of Georgia which is great news for the Tennessee football program.

Obviously, anytime that the Vols and Bulldogs play it is an exciting game but what happened two seasons ago down in Athens makes this game even more exciting.

After it looked like Tennessee was going to lose the game, on the last play quarterback Josh Dobbs threw a Hail Mary to wide receiver Jauan Jennings to win the game.

I don’t think a rational fan is predicting or expecting the Vols to beat the Bulldogs. And, there are no moral victories in SEC football, if the Vols can keep the game close it will be a win. However, I wouldn’t look for Pruitt to be happy with moral victories.
