No. 3 – September 22nd vs. Florida

The Florida Gators come in at the number three spot on the rankings. Florida is a lot like Tennessee in the sense that there is a new head coach that is walking the sidelines.

Dan Mullen moves across divisions in the SEC from Mississippi State. Now, being in the East, Mullen should have an easier road to Atlanta. At least he won’t have to go through Alabama every single year.

Florida is a lot like Tennessee as well in the sense that both teams are looking up at Georgia for the next couple of seasons.

The Florida game is always a game that get the fans excited and this year it should as well. Say Tennessee can beat West Virginia in the first game of the season. The Vols could be 3-0 when Florida comes to Knoxville.

Could you imagine in Jeremy Pruitt started his tenure 4-0? Vol Nation would go crazy.

Just like Vanderbilt and Georgia, the Gators have owned the Vols recently. Other than 2016, Tennessee’s last win against Florida came in 2004. Pruitt hasn’t coached a game wearing orange and white, but I don’t think he will let the program crumble as it has in the past.
