  • Believe it or not, Jalen Johnson was the best recruit according to 247Sports. They had him ranked as the 147th best player in the nation. Now, Johnson certainly has time to prove that he can be productive for the Tennessee basketball team.

Jordan Bone was a three-star prospect out of Nashville, Tennessee. He has been consistent in the sense of no injuries and plays over 20 minutes a game. But, the one drawback with Bone is he does not play as aggressive as he should.

Fellow starting guard, Jordan Bowden another three-star recruit was a part of the 2016 class. Like Bone, Bowden has had games where he couldn’t be stopped. In fact, for most of the 2017018 season, he led the SEC in three-point percentage.

Grant Williams, the SEC Player of the Year last season was the 191st best recruit according to 247Sports. Now, in fairness to all the recruiting sites, no one could have guessed the player Williams would turn out to be. He averaged 15.2 points per game last season and was the Vols go-to guy when they needed a big bucket.

John Fulkerson and Kwe Parker were also a part of the 2016 class. Fulkerson showed a lot of promise during his freshman season but was nagged by an injury most of last season.

This class still has the potential to be one of the best classes in the last 20 years if they can keep up the production.
