East Tennessee State University, unfortunately, was not on NCAA 14, so I had to put FCS East on the schedule.

The begin the season with back-to-back games scoring over 30 points. Which helped them start the season 2-0, and everyone in Knoxville is loving Jeremy Pruitt. Now, I understand who the opponent was but the Vols defense held ETSU or FCS East to 204 yards in total offense. Pruitt’s defense also added another interception to their total.

One thing that stood out in the past two games is both opponents are perfect in the red zone. If Tennessee football wants to continue to win games, they are going to have to start holding opponents to field goals or missed tries.

Players of the Game

Offense – Quarterback, Jarrett Guarantano and Running back, Ty Chandler

Guarantano threw for two more touchdowns which brings his season total to four. He was 12-of-25 for 247 passing yards.

Chandler could easily be considered a Heisman front-runner at the moment. He had 29 carries for 173 rushing yards with two more touchdowns.

He currently leads the NCAA in rushing yards with 324. Arkansas’s T.J. Hammonds is second with 307 yards.

Defense – Linebacker, Darrell Taylor

Taylor had eight tackles with six solos. He also added two tackles for loss with one sack. Taylor could end up being one of the best players on the team if he can keep up that level of play.

Key games around the SEC

Georgia whopped up on South Carolina 42-14.
