Another day and another Georgia prospect coming north to play for the Tennessee Volunteers. Add Georgia CB Warren Burrell to the 2019 recruiting class.

Warren Burrell, a three-star cornerback from Suwanee, Georgia committed to the Tennessee football team on Twitter Friday afternoon. He picked the Vols over Florida and N.C. State.

Anytime Tennessee can beat Florida on a player; it is big news for the rising program. According to 247Sports Composite, Burrell is the ranked as the No. 44  best cornerback in the nation and the No. 53 best prospect from the state of Georgia.

The 6-foot, 170-pound Burrell gives the Vols their first cornerback of the already stacked class of 2019. With the commitment of Burrell that gives the Vols 16 commits and moves them up to No. 14 in the overall rankings.

Burrell is a physical back that takes pride in being the ‘shut down’ corner on the field. Here’s a video of some of his highlights.

Burrell is extraordinarily athletic, and it looks like he flies on the field. He has a sharp eye for the ball in the air and has the ability to make an adjustment for the interception.

It also should be noted that he has Eric Berry like instincts when it comes to returning interceptions. He has excellent vision of the football field, and the highlights show he has the ability to return an interception for a touchdown.

If Burrell stays committed, he will be a fantastic asset to the defense Jeremy Pruitt wants to build. If Pruitt and company keep it up, the Vols could have a dominating defense like they use to have during the 90’s.

Good news for Tennessee, Burrell is not planning on continuing his recruitment. In recruiting it isn’t over until the player signs the paper, but in this case, it looks like Warren Burrell will be wearing the orange and white next season.
