No. 1 – January 6 vs. Kentucky Wildcats
Finally, coming in first on our list was the first game against the Kentucky Wildcats in Knoxville. This was a huge game when it came to setting the tone for the rest of the season. The Vols were 0-2 in the SEC heading into the Kentucky game. A loss would have hurt any chances for a regular season championship.
Schofield almost had a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. He also shot 3-of-7 from the three-point line in 33 minutes of action.
This game showed Tennessee fans that basketball was about to be played in Knoxville. And, it was a great way to get the ball rolling on a good season.
The Vols are going to need Schofield to bring these types of games next season to be successful. There will be no sneaking up on teams this year; everyone will be ready for Tennessee.
If last season was any indication of the year to come, then the Vols will be prepared. Plus, Schofield will be looking to prove to the nation that he has NBA talent and that he is ready for the league.
