Savion Williams found a home at Tennessee on Tuesday as he commits to play the 2018 football season with the Vols.

Another great day on Rocky Top for Jeremy Pruitt and the boys. Over the weekend, the Vols added two players to the class. And today, the top-rated defensive tackle from the junior college ranks committed to the Vols on Tuesday. The 6-foot-4, 315-pound, highly talented Savion Williams will be in orange and white for the 2019 season.

247Sports have updated their ranking system. And with the addition of Savion Williams, the Vols have 18 commits in the 2019 recruiting class. The Vols are creeping close to the top ten as they sit No. 13 in the national rankings which is good enough for No. 5 in the SEC.

Williams had other offers from West Virginia, Georgia, Maryland, N.C. State, Nebraska, and the defending National Champions UCF Golden Knights. He announced on Twitter his decision and why he picked the Vols.

Williams fits right into the tough-minded defensive style that Pruitt wants his team to play with. He is a fast player and has an explosive step off the ball. And he is strong enough to get off blocks. Williams has excellent size, but that doesn’t affect his athletism. He is a quick player despite playing upright most of the time.

Pruitt is building a monster on the defensive side of the ball. He is recruiting a lot of players that look like they could already be in the NFL. Savion Williams joins LeDarrius Cox, Darel Middleton, and Elijah Simmons on the defensive line.

The Vols have struggled in recent years on the line of scrimmage. However, with the way Pruitt and company are recruiting the offensive and defensive lines could be the most talented parts of the team.
